Where Is the Love?
In a world full of so much turmoil all around us, we find ourselves asking so many questions, like the one the Black Eyed Peas asked in their song, “Where Is the Love?”

The question seems more relevant and pressing today than ever, and, it has more meaning than ever for me. Because I am so very fortunate to see where the love is every single day here at Toco Hills Community Alliance. (You can see some of what I mean if you click HERE.)
Where is the love?
- It’s here when churches, schools, and businesses drop off much needed food for our neighbors
- It’s here in each meal cooked and served to our unhoused neighbors
- It’s here when our volunteers sort and bag produce and meat, in every box of food that is packed to share with our neighbors
- It’s here every time our neighbors drive through or walk up to receive their groceries
- It’s here because of you and your support!
The truth is, all of us are needed to show and share the love – together.

Inspired by this quote by Booker T. Washington, our second year intern from Candler School of Theology, India, wrote this:
This reminds us that true advancement is achieved in community. Growth requires shared effort and practices of mutual support, recognizing that when we invest in one another, we strengthen our collective hope and transformation. The foundation of Toco Hills Community Alliance is grounded in a commitment to community, hope, and transformation.
One plate at a time.
Together, we are lifting our neighbors.
Together, we are building a community where we see love every day.
Together, we are sharing food as Neighbors Helping Neighbors.
Together, we are investing in one another.
Together, we are strengthening our collective hope.
Together, we are committed to overcoming food insecurity –
one plate, one bag, one box, one family, one neighbor, at a time.

THANK YOU to every one of you, each individual, family, school, social group, neighborhood association, faith community, local business. Because of you, I am not the only who can see where the love is. Because of you, our neighbors can come and see and know there is love here.
In a month dedicated to the celebration of love and appreciation of African American history, thank you for showing love to and through THCA.
In Immense Gratitude,
Rev. Dr. Lisa Heilig
Executive Director
P.S. One of the best ways to keep up with THCA is to follow on social media: Facebook and Instagram. We post updates of families served, special events, and other items of interest.
Be a Team Player!
![]() Whether you’re a football fan still talking about the Super Bowl ![]() Or you’re cheering on the athletes in the Winter Olympics, competition is inspiring! Now it’s time to get off the sidelines, compete for THCA in Atlanta Community Food Bank’s Hunger Walk, and inspire others! Important Info: THCA purchases food for our neighbors from Atlanta Community Food Bank. All proceeds raised at the Hunger Walk for THCA, goes directly into our Atlanta Community Food Bank account and will cover our costs for food in 2026-2027. We need to raise at least $30,000 this year. Here is a Hunger Walk Fact Sheet for more information. |

Annual Giving Statements were emailed and mailed out two weeks ago.
Please email [email protected] if you haven’t received it and need it.
Our system does not usually generate a statement for gifts given through a Donor Advised Fund or through an IRA Rollover. If that is how you gave in 2025 and you would like a statement, we can send you one if you will just reach out via the email address above.
Your gifts made such a positive impact in 2025, and we are so grateful!
