MARTA had to reduce bus service to 41 routes to prioritize essential transit service during the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, the route 30 bus that runs on Lavista Road in front of THCA was one of the routes cut.
GOOD NEWS though! There will be a shuttle running on Lavista during THCA distribution hours from 1p-4p every Tuesday and Thursday from 1790 LaVista to Peachtree Baptist Church at LaVista and Briarcliff.
To take the shuttle, volunteers and clients will take the route 6 bus to the stop at Lavista and Briarcliff. The shuttle will pick up there and transport you to THCA picnic table where it will also pick up and then return to the stop at Lavista and Briarcliff to catch the route 6 bus.
ALL RIDERS ARE ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK! Please note - Shirts and pants are required while on THCA property.
Per our Covid plan, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday our “hot lunch” will be a to go service for those experiencing homelessness only. We will strive to distribute “lunch” type food in “express bags/boxes." Clients may sit at the picnic tables provided or take their meal to go. We should all follow the Covid-19 precautions.
Our Clothing Closet is open on various Fridays of the month. Upcoming dates are January 15 and 29th. We will have all the racks of clothing out in the parking lot, weather permitting from 10 AM - 12:30 pm. Line up in the car line as you normally do and the parking lot attendant will direct you when it is your turn to shop. If it is raining or DeKalb County is closed due to inclement weather, we will not open the closet. No food will be distributed on Friday
Since our building is closed to the public, our resource office is closed.
Our office number is 404-325-0677. We will be checking messages Monday – Friday and someone will get back to you within 24 hours. If you have an immediate need please contact 211 for information or if a true emergency call 911. For resources use your browser and enter they type of assistance you need and your zip code. Much has changed since COVID so please call any resource before going there as their hours may have changed.
PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES. WE LOVE YOU AND WILL RETURN TO OUR NORMAL SCHEDULE AS SOON AS WE CAN.
